ASA Private Pilot Oral Exam Guide Updated – Fifteenth Edition Now Available!

Over the past year, I worked with the team at ASA to update the Private Pilot Oral Exam Guide to the now available fifteenth edition!

This edition aligns with the Airman Certification Standards (ACS), covering pilot qualifications, airworthiness, preflight/postflight procedures, human factors, aircraft systems, performance and limitations, and much more. It also includes updates reflecting the FAA’s new MOSAIC regulations and their impact on light-sport aircraft and pilot privileges. This resource prepares applicants for the oral exam portion of the Private Pilot Airplane Practical Test and is valuable as a general refresher.

We have even included some new scenarios to support your study efforts as a private pilot in training (or a CFI who may be training others and also find this book helpful for some refreshment).

An Applicant Practical Test Checklist and quick-reference to the Private Pilot maneuvers and tolerances (as defined in the Airman Certification Standards) are also included. This resource prepares applicants for the Private Pilot Airplane checkride and is valuable as a general refresher.
