Your student wants to use their aircraft, in this case, a Bonanza, to fly some of his friends to their boat in the Bahamas. There are 6 seats in the plane.
The owner/student is not able to be PIC of the aircraft yet (they don’t have their complex and high-peformance endorsements yet); so you are doing training for them.
You leave Michigan and fly to Florida where you will pick up 5 passengers and fly them to Chubb Cay. Because there are only 6 seats, the owner of the aircraft (your student) will stay there while you run them from there to the boat and then come back and pick him back up before going back home.
The following is what the legs of the flight end up being. What can you log as dual received for the student on this long day of flying?
Z98 – KAHN 3.3 hrs flight Owner and you as CFI conduct flight
KAHN – KLCQ 1.5 hrs flight Owner and you as CFI conduct flight
KLCQ – MYBC 2.5 hrs flight You conduct the flight on your own without the owner (with passengers)
MYBC – KFXE 1 hrs flight You conduct the flight on your own without the owner (with passengers)
KFXE – KLCQ 1.9 hrs flight You conduct the flight on your own without the owner (with passengers)
KLCQ – KTYS 1.9 hrs flight Owner and you as CFI conduct flight
KTYS – Z98 2.6 hrs flight Owner and you as CFI conduct flight
You were wheels up at 6am from Z98 when you left and arrived back home at about 1130pm. Whew. A long but good flying day.
