Drag the airplane onto the plate to begin. The ADF needle always points at the NDB — read it relative to your nose.
Needle is driven only by where you drag the airplane — it always points at the station's actual bearing and never moves for either slider.
Card is spun independently with the ADF Card Adjustment knob. Dial it to your current heading (or tap Sync) so the number under the needle matches the true relative bearing.
